Our Mission & Cause

OUR MISSION IS VERY SIMPLE:

To challenge hunger by bringing relief to people on fixed but inadequate incomes:
Senior Citizens, Disabled, Single Parents, the Under-Employed or Unemployed between jobs.

Every day of the week Gleaners Dispatch Volunteers go to local wholesalers, retailers, and restaurants and “glean” (gather) EXCESS fresh food that would otherwise be disposed of, and redistribute the fresh food to families in need, trying to have it on someone’s table within 24-48 hours – free of charge.

SATURDAY FRESH FOOD DISTRIBUTION

OAK HILL CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
In the South Parking Lot (enter at the traffic light) of the
4151 Old Middleburg Road N @ Fouraker Rd intersection
(halfway between 103rd Street & Wilson Blvd. on Old Middleburg Rd N)

From 8:30 to 10:30 am

Food is free but a Voluntary Donation of $2 per family is appreciated to help defray the costs of Gleaning & Distribution.

Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. (Registration #CH43202) has complied with the registrations requirements of Chapter 496, Florida Statutes, “Solicitation of Contributions Act”. A copy of the registration & financial information may be obtained from the Florida Division of Consumer Services at (800) 435-7352.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED FOR WEEKDAY ROUTES

In need of Drivers to pick up from Vendors!  We pick up 7 days a week.  Please consider volunteering your time to help hunger in Northwest Florida.  All vendors are within 15 mile radius of our Warehouse on 103rd.  Morning shift can be done between 7:00 am and 11:00 am.  Vendor run can be completed usually in less than 2 hours.  Vendors are located in Oakleaf Towne Center, Roosevelt Shopping Plaza, on 103rd and one in Mandarin.   Run and Vendors will be selected to accommodate your schedule.  PLEASE consider becoming a Volunteer!

Occasionally Gleaners Dispatch will receive “Excess Loads” of items.  These items are usually meat or produce.  When this happens we post on Facebook where and when we will be there and the distribution times.  In the past we have used our Saturday site – 4151 Old Middleburg Road, 32210.  Usually they are evening times (around 6pm) so we can help as many people as possible.
